Lamps are very good for utility lighting and can be used to enhance illumination from ambient lighting. They are also good for decorative purposes to dress up a room. There is a wide selection of lamps.

If you want to add a touch of class to your dcor, you can use a Tiffany lamp. These lamps are comprised of a number of pieces of stained glass. They will set the style for the whole room as they are a unique accent lamp. Depending on where you want it, you can have a table or floor Tiffany lamp.

For a unique look you can try an oriental lamp. They are usually made of light wood, like bamboo and have opaque paper shades. They are nice decoration pieces that will make most rooms look good. They are an ideal addition to a room with an oriental theme.

Office lamps are used for work. They have a bright direct light with a simple design. These lamps are good for office or a computer area. For more detailed work angle lamps are useful.

Floor lamps can be useful for reading, as they can be positioned in corners of a room close to your favorite reading spots. Floor lamps come in a number of different types and can be quite decorative. You can either have a modern look with a contemporary type of lamp, or a traditional dcor with a lighting fixture style like a Tiffany lamp.

Torch lamps point upwards towards the ceiling and will give a soft reflective illumination. They are good additions to overall ambient lighting and give a nice romantic relaxed feel to a room. They can be used in a bedroom or sitting room. In addition to their reflective light they can also have different hues. Soft yellow will enhance their romantic feel.

You will select the size of the lamp depending on what you need it for and where it will be positioned. For instance a table lamp should be able to fit onto your desk or table. You will need to be sure that it is the right size and does not crowd out other items, but it should also be big enough to give you adequate illumination to work with. .

Also think about the lamp’s weight. It will be less likely to topple over if it is heavier. If you have young children or a lot of traffic in a room you may want to consider a heavier lamp. Where there is less traffic you can have lighter, fancier lamps.

The best type of lamp should be selected carefully. You can choose contemporary or traditional looking lamps. Your room set up and dcor will be the deciding factor for your selection. You can buy some spectacular contemporary looking torch and floor lamps to make your room unique.
